FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What do I wear to my session?
Can I print the images myself?
Most sessions come with your best digital edited images with print release. This means you can print as many photos as you'd like. I also offer archival prints, canvases, photo books, and more.
When will I receive my images?
For portraits sessions it typically takes about 2 weeks. Weddings take a bit longer. Expect those larger sessions to take 4-6 weeks to complete.
How will I receive my images?
You can choose between a disk, digital download, or a flash drive. There may be an additional cost for a flash drive if it is not included in your package.
How far do you travel?
I will travel as far as you need me to. I reside in Columbia, Missouri and do most sessions near central Missouri but would love to see new venues and places! Ask for travel fees and pricing.
What payment methods do you accept?
Do you deliver every image you shoot?
No, I do not. I spend hours selecting and editing the best images while eliminating duplicates, test shots, shots with bad expressions, etc. Because portraits are generally shot with a low aperture, sometimes multiple shots are taken to be sure I have perfect focus.
Is there a booking fee?
Yes. You must pay at least 50% of the total payment to hold your date (this is a booking fee and is not refundable except for in a tragic event such as death or hospitalization of bride or groom). The other half must be paid 14 days before the session date.
Can I you send me the RAW unedited photos?
No, I do not send RAW photos to any clients because RAW photos are unfinished. RAW photos are very large and contain a lot of extra information. Because of this, they may appear dull or dark. Editing brings out the details and colors of the image that work with my editing style. An unfinished photo doesn't represent my brand, and I want to make sure future clients see my photos and know exactly what style they will be getting if they book with me. This is the reason in my contract it says that the photos you receive cannot be altered in any way when posting to social media.
What if my kids miss behave or guests don't cooperate?
Lifestyle Photography by Amy is not responsible for the outcome of the pictures if there are circumstances which are out of the photographer's control. We will try our best to encourage kids and family memebers to look at the camera and follow instructions but it is ultimately the client's responsibility to manage misbehaving guests. If the photos do not work out you will have to pay for another session.
What is a print release? Can I have the Copyrights to the photos?
I do not give copyrights to any images. The photos belong to the photographer because they have created the images. You will, however, be able to print the photos and use them on social media for personal use. To keep the photos the same across all platforms and represent Lifestyle Photography's style consistantly, you may not add filters, edit, or crop images in any way.
What is the model release option?
